Christmas is over and a New Year just started.
We had a nice time during this holiday season. On December 24th, I hosted a traditional Belgian dinner with some friends. We started dinner at 6 and finished around midnight. We had aperitif (a drink and some hors d’oeuvres), an appetizer (garlic butter shrimp), an entrée (turkey with cranberry sauce and gratin dauphinois and a delicious salad made by my friend Christina) and the traditional dessert (yule Christmas log). Here are some pictures.
On the 25th, we travelled to Pennsylvania to see my husband’s family. We had a great time with close and extended family. On the 26th, we spent the day with our nephews. Here are some pictures.
We came back home and rested. Yesterday, we celebrated the New Year with a Chinese dinner and some champagne. We spent the night watching movies, listening to some worship music, and watching our traditional New Year’s Eve service from Rock Church in Virginia. We love the preacher who is invited there to preach every year. His name is Kent Christmas (visit his church if you ever are in Nashville, TN). http://www.bridgeministry.org/
Happy New Year everyone! Here is a quote from one of my favorite worship song writer: “Do your best; pray that it is blessed; and God will take care of the rest” – Keith Green
Beautiful!
Praying for you in this new year! I know that God will continue to keep and care for you guys in 2014 as he did in 2013. GREAT is his faithfulness. xoxo
