Chia Seeds or the Power in the Seed

Posted by

images I first heard about chia seeds a few months ago… since then… I eat one tablespoon a day. Well, let me brag about my new friends. Chia seeds (grain and gluten free) are extremely good for your health as one tablespoon contains more calcium than one glass of milk, more good Omega-3s than a big piece of salmon, about 5g of dietary fiber, and about 3g of protein. They are also good for athletes as they retain water and form a gel that keeps them hydrated.  They are apparently also easier to digest than flax seed. So, if you are looking for a healthy seed, full of nutrients, to add to your salad, smoothies, yogurt, water, puddings, muffins, breading give chia seeds a try… they are almost tasteless! It’s such a powerful yet small seed. It reminds me of the Word of God, the Bible. Luke 8:11 says that “the seed is the Word of God”. John 1:1 talks about the Word of God which is Jesus who gave us the right to become Children of God. Isaiah 55:1 declares: “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”. When God sends His Word, the seed, it will never return to Him without doing what He desires to accomplish through it. Each time we talk about Jesus to someone, think about it as like a seed, a small seed but a powerful one because it will never go back to heaven before accomplishing what it was planted for. There is power in the seed… because the seed is Jesus. By the way… check your teeth when you are done eating chia seeds, some may get stuck to your teeth and cause people to wonder what you ate!

  1. Cool! I’m going to try chia.

I thought it was cute how you went from talking about Jesus to checking our teeth! Hee!

That always happens to me with poppy seeds. They get stuck in my teeth!
